Why it works
- Jhin's W needs an ally to damage the target. According to Data Dragon, the W roots the champion it hits if they took damage from an allied champion in the last few seconds. Camille's E (damage and stun) and attacks with her R provide that.
- Camille brings engage and control. Her E, reactivated from a wall, hits the first champion, damages them and stuns them. Against champions the dash has double the range.
- Her R pins the target. Camille leaps onto a champion, interrupts channels and locks them in an area they can't escape in any way for a few seconds. She knocks the other nearby enemies back. Her attacks against the trapped target deal bonus magic damage.
- Jhin shoots from afar. He has range 550 and his W and R have enormous range: he doesn't need to get into the fight.
- Two ultimates that complement each other. With the target locked in, Jhin's R (4 shots, the fourth a guaranteed crit with execute damage) is easier to land.
Weak points: Camille's E needs a terrain wall (the bot lane has few); Camille is melee (range 125) and suffers against poke; without jungle information an engage can lose two lives.
Powerspikes by level
| Level | What changes | How to play it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | No combo yet. | Bush priority, don't give away health, zone with the threat of the hook. |
| 2 | First spike: Camille has E and Jhin has W. | All-in if you arrive with the first wave in full and three melee minions of the second To verify. |
| 2-5 | Gold lead from a kill or a freeze. | Run the combo and invade the enemy's vision. |
| 6 | Spike: both ultimates. | A kill with the level 6 protocol. |
| 7-8 | After the first tower, Camille's role changes. | Rotate with the jungler (see Mid game). |
Level 2 combo (all-in)
Window condition according to the text provided: level 2 with the first wave and three melee minions of the second. To verify
- Camille: E. Hook to a wall and reactivate on the target: damage and stun.
- Camille: Ignite and attacks. Sustained damage on the target. To verify
- Jhin: W. With the target damaged by an ally, they are rooted. To verify
- Jhin: attacks. The fourth shot with execute damage to close.
Combo mistakes: casting the E with no wall nearby, with no information on the enemy jungler, or spending Jhin's W before Camille hooks.
Level 6 protocol: "Hextech Isolation"
Name from the text provided; the ability is called "Hextech Ultimatum" in game.
- Camille: R on the priority target. It locks them in the area; they can't escape in any way and the other enemies are pushed out.
- Jhin: W to the center. The target is damaged by Camille and can't leave; the root usually lands. (The text provided says "100% effective": it isn't, it's a projectile and the target can still move inside the area.)
- Jhin: R from a safe distance. All four shots land on the target; the last has a guaranteed crit.
Warning: the area locks in the target; the other enemies are only pushed away when the R is cast. It's not a permanent wall for the whole enemy bot lane, as the original text suggests. To verify
Game plan
| Phase | Goal | Camille's key action |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Bush priority, don't give away health. | Zone from the bush with the threat of the hook. |
| Levels 2-5 | Gold lead from a kill or a freeze. | Run the combo and invade enemy vision. |
| Level 6 | A kill with the protocol. | R to pin the target for Jhin's W and R. |
| Mid game | Roams and map control with the jungler. | Leave Jhin farming from range and rotate to mid or top. |
Transition to the mid game
After the first tower, or at level 7-8, Camille goes from lane support to a second mobile jungler.
- Jhin alone in the lane: place the trap (E) at the river and jungle entrances and farm from range with Q and W.
- Camille with the jungler: invades and ganks on mid. The E lets her use the walls to arrive by routes the enemy doesn't expect. (The text provided says it "gets past vision wards": the E hooks to a wall, it doesn't pass through it, so it doesn't dodge vision by itself.) To verify
- "Sniper Protocol": if Camille traps someone in the jungle with the R, Jhin helps from range with W and R without reaching the fight. To verify
Runes and summoner spells
To verify
| Champion | Main path | Spells | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camille support | Domination: Hail of Blades + Sudden Impact | Flash + Ignite (the text provided marks it as mandatory) | Initiator, target isolator, offensive vision |
| Jhin | Fleet Footwork (Precision) for sustain and mobility, or Dark Harvest (Domination) for burst | Flash + Cleanse (or Heal) | Ranged crowd control follow-up and execution |
Items by matchup
Pending The text provided doesn't include items. They will be filled in from the patch's shop.
Matchups and bans
Pending No data. Hints from the mechanics, to verify: Camille is melee and needs a wall, so long-range poke supports should be uncomfortable. To verify
Critical mistakes to avoid
- Spending Jhin's W while farming. It's the only immediate crowd control follow-up; don't use it on minions if Camille is looking for the hook.
- Casting Camille's E without jungle information. Camille support isn't a pure tank; a dive with the enemy jungler nearby gives away two deaths.
- Staying under tower after a dive. Camille can take few tower hits in the early phases. The text provided recommends using the R to reset tower aggro. To verify
How to play against Jhin + Camille
Respect levels 2 to 6 and the area without vision next to walls and bushes. If Camille's E has no wall nearby, her engage loses strength: keep the lane away from them. When Camille uses the R, the target can't get out; everyone else, move away from the area so you aren't pushed. To verify
Frequently asked questions
Is Camille support good with Jhin? It depends on coordination and the lane's walls. To verify
When to make the first all-in? At level 2 with the wave window described, or at level 6 with both ultimates.
What does Camille's R do? She leaps onto an enemy champion, locks them in an area they can't escape for a few seconds and knocks the other nearby enemies back.
Why does Jhin's W need Camille? Because it only roots champions who recently took damage from an allied champion.
